Telling the story of purpose and vision for one of Scotland’s most iconic hotels
Working with the team at a prestigious five-star hotel in Scotland, Covers was tasked with communicating the company’s purpose and vision for the years ahead.
The goal was to create a tactile printed piece that helped people across the business — from kitchens and housekeeping to outdoor pursuits — connect with its long-term strategic direction.
Client: Luxury hotel
Location: Highlands, Scotland
Scope: Editorial design, print management
Created for 1,600 employees across the business
The process
The project began with design exploration – finding a way to distil a message that could speak to everyone across the business. Collaborating with the People team, we developed an editorial design approach that balanced clarity with craft.
The design used the hotel’s existing identity as a foundation, with subtle new elements introduced to bridge content and brand. To make the document feel approachable, we paced the layout carefully: shorter pages, varied paper stocks and natural breaks gave readers room to pause and reflect.
Production details added another layer: a blind-embossed cover, logo foiling and a contemporary take on a dust jacket designed to frame the saddle-stitched booklet within.
Alongside the printed booklet, we created a digital version to ensure accessibility while maintaining the crafted feel.
The results
The piece was received warmly across the business and became a reference point for the hotel’s 1,600 employees. Distributed at town hall events, it helped teams connect with a shared vision for the future.
Following its success, we continued working with the team to evolve the vision into a broader campaign.
